Abstract

In this research, we introduce an innovative method to boost the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) by utilizing Chemical Bath Deposited (CBD) SnO2 on mesoporous TiO2 (m-TiO2) for the electron transport layer (ETL), eliminating the need for the traditional compact TiO2 (c-TiO2) layer. Our findings demonstrate that this technique markedly enhances carrier dynamics, as shown by shorter time constants in comparison with conventional ETLs. The CBD SnO2 enhances electron mobility and significantly decreases defect density in m-TiO2 films. These improvements lead to better photovoltaic parameters, including increased open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current (JSC), fill factor (FF), and a notable power conversion efficiency (PCE) of over 23.62%. The research also highlights the potential for scaling up this method, emphasizing the progress in screen printing and chemical bath deposition processes essential for large-scale PSC fabrication. The consistent PCE across large areas verifies the effectiveness and uniformity of this method, offering a novel and universal approach for producing high-efficiency PSCs.
